Chalfont Tavern Is Closing in December. Here's Your Last Call

by Nick Rau

Chalfont's pizza tavern on Main Street is closing, and the owners want one thing before the doors shut: you, back at the bar. Chalfont Tavern Pizza & Restaurant at 4 N. Main St. in Chalfont borough will close in December 2026, the owners announced on Facebook in mid-October. No final date has been set, and they were clear that they're still open: "Come visit us, enjoy your favorite food and drinks, and help us make these last months together memorable."

That means you have about two months of Friday pizza nights left at one of the most recognizable buildings in town, the big white porch-wrapped corner spot with the gabled entrance right in the middle of Chalfont.

A comeback built on hard work

For more than a decade the building was Leonardo's Pizza & Pub. When Rosa Jimenez became the owner in January, she rebuilt it from the menu out, the Herald reported. She gave it a new name and a new menu and cut the ribbon on Chalfont Tavern Pizza & Restaurant on Feb. 9, 2026, according to the Bucks County Herald. She did it while also running Rio Dulce Mexican Restaurant & Bakery in Lansdale and raising a small child at home, the Herald reported. Her stated goal, per the Herald, was to rebuild not just the business but trust in the community, and you can hear that in how the owners said goodbye.

"You have been more than customers," they wrote. "You have been part of our family." They added: "Our doors are still open, and we would love to see you before we say goodbye."

What to order before December

The menu is a full Main Street tavern lineup, not just pies. On its online ordering menu you'll find New York, Chicago-style and Sicilian pizza, a Grandma Pie, a Drunken Brooklyn Thin Crust and a Mexican Taco Pizza, plus wings, cheesesteaks, hoagies, burgers, gyros, quesadillas and pasta "Speciale de Casa" plates served with garlic knots and salad. The sign out front also advertises catering, a special event space, karaoke and live music.
