Halloween morning starts with a 5K, then York Road opens for trick-or-treat. Hatboro stacks both on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026: the 20th annual Hatboro Federal Skeleton Skurry at 9:30 a.m. from Pennypack Community Center, 130 Spring Avenue, and Hatboro's Halloween Stroll from 2 to 4 p.m. along the York Road business district.
A small borough that still fills York Road for holidays puts the race and the shopfronts on the same calendar day.
The Skeleton Skurry, hosted with the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce and WK Bray-Southampton Masonic Lodge #410, offers a USATF-certified 5K and a 1-mile walk, both starting and finishing at the former Pennypack Elementary (now Pennypack Community Center). Costumes are optional, with costume prizes listed for adults, kids and groups. Race-day registration opens at 8 a.m. at the community center. Parking is not at the start/finish; the race page points drivers to Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church (300 S. York Rd.), Dollar General (317 S. York Rd.) and the Bank Street lot. The race page still shows last year's details, so confirm race-day registration, parking and current pricing on RaceEntry before you go.
That afternoon, Chamber businesses along York Road open their doors so kids can trick-or-treat the district from 2 to 4 p.m.
One Saturday covers a chip-timed race in the morning and a downtown candy crawl after lunch. Families can do either or both without leaving the borough.
If you're racing, grab your RaceEntry confirmation early and plan the remote parking; if you're only strolling, show up on York Road by 2.
