Lower Makefield's 20th Veterans Parade Marches Nov. 14

Lower Makefield marks a milestone this Veterans Day season. The 20th annual Lower Makefield Veterans Day Parade steps off on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Edgewood and Long Acre Roads and ends at the Veterans Square Monument, at the corner of Edgewood and Heacock Roads. A thirty-minute ceremony follows at about 1:45 to 2 p.m., according to the Veterans Square Foundation.

Twenty years in, it's a hometown tradition that brings veterans, neighbors and local groups together along Edgewood Road.

What's on the schedule

All veterans and active-duty military, along with many community organizations, are welcome to march. To join the lineup, contact Kathleen Howell in the Lower Makefield Township Parks and Recreation Department at [email protected]. The foundation says a parade flyer is coming soon.

Last year's 19th parade, on Nov. 8, 2025, featured American Legion and VFW organizations, military vehicles, local fire trucks, scout troops, bagpipes and horses, with hospitality tables at Veterans Square, according to the township.

The monument, with its life-size bronze eagle, bas reliefs and bronze plaques, was dedicated on Nov. 9, 2014. The township has said any veteran or active-duty service member who has lived in Lower Makefield or Yardley can have their name added to the Veterans Square Wall of Honor at no charge.

Why it's worth showing up

The parade and ceremony fit into an early Saturday afternoon, and they're a simple way to say thank you in person.

Bring a flag, find a spot along the route, and stay for the ceremony at Veterans Square.
