Heels on, pumpkins up. New Hope Celebrates' High Heel Drag Race returns on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, on West Mechanic Street. The fun starts at 2 p.m., and the race kicks off at 3 p.m., according to New Hope Celebrates.
New Hope Celebrates calls it a highlight of the October season, and it's part of the group's OUT in October lineup.
Everyone in the race wears high heels, carries a pumpkin up the hill, decorates it and races back down Mechanic Street. New Hope Celebrates says to show up early for the pre-race follies.
Newtown-Yardley Online lists this year's race as the 22nd annual, with the theme "Over the Rainbow: There's No Place Like New Hope," hosted by Miss Pumpkin, at South Main and West Mechanic streets. Racers' heels must be at least three inches.
The after party starts at 4 p.m. at Havana, 105 S. Main St., hosted by Miss NHC 2026 Athena Chanteuse. A $10 suggested donation supports New Hope Celebrates and Pride 2027, per Newtown-Yardley Online.
The race has been part of New Hope's October for more than two decades. The local Chamber of Commerce started it, and New Hope Celebrates took it over in 2015, which makes 2026 its 11th year hosting, according to New Hope Celebrates.
