Bucks Co. & Beyond Daily

Parx Racing in Bensalem is trading some of its usual horsepower for something a lot more exotic. On Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, the track at Parx Casino, 3001 Street Road, hosts Exotic Animal Racing as part of its Fall Festival, and Parx Casino says the field will include zebras, ostriches and camels. They'll share the afternoon with the regular live racing card, live music, food trucks and food and beverage specials, and the free family fun runs from noon to 5 p.m. Gates open at 11 a.m. and the first post is at 12:40 p.m., so you can make a whole Sunday of it.
It's the kind of day that gets people who have never placed a bet to drive over to Street Road, which is exactly why these events have caught on at tracks around the region. When Delaware Park ran exotic animal races in July 2025, the Newark Post reported a larger-than-normal crowd, and Penn National drew thousands for its version this past July 4.
The regular Parx card runs nine races on the dirt, with the first post at 12:40 p.m. and the last race scheduled for about 4:56 p.m., according to the Equibase entries for Oct. 25. Parx Casino's posts promise pony rides, moon bounces, face painting and live music from EarCandy Band Live alongside the zebra, ostrich and camel races. Parx hasn't posted exact times for the animal races, so check its social pages Sunday morning before you head out.
Days like this give families a reason to see the track without a racing form in hand. The season keeps rolling after Sunday, too: Parx's schedule lists Oct. 30 and 31 as Breeders' Cup race days, so if the animals win you over, there's a reason to come back.

I've always gone to the Pennsylvania Derby at Parx, and it's a great time. Exotic animals on that same track is a whole new thing.
