There's a new reason to book a Friday night on South Main Street. Taralli, a Puglia-inspired Italian restaurant, has just opened at 35 S. Main St. in Yardley, WPST reported on Nov. 2, 2026, in the space La La Lobster left when it closed June 28. The opening menu pairs dishes from Puglia, the heel of Italy's boot, with ingredients from regional farms: focaccia barese, orecchiette with local broccoli rabe and toasted bread crumbs, and a wine list built around a Pennsylvania winery.

Why Yardley is talking about it

When La La Lobster's owner, Nicole Rabena, announced in May that the lobster shack would close after six years, WPST reported at the time that a new tenant was taking over the space with a new restaurant concept. That concept turned out to be Taralli, and it took longer than planned. WPST said it was expected to open in late summer, and in a Sept. 10 report by wine writer Paul Vigna, Lazzerini said he hoped to open before the end of September, with final inspections next.

Who's cooking, and what's on the menu

The kitchen is led by executive chef Palmer Marinelli, whose rƩsumƩ includes six years with Pub & Kitchen, two of them as executive chef at The Diving Horse in Avalon, New Jersey, plus four years cooking private events with the catering company Wildings, Vigna reported. His partner in the venture is Lazzerini, who grows grapes on five acres in Lancaster County for his Vox Vineti wines, which he said would be prominent on the list. Lazzerini told Vigna the recipes draw on Puglia and the Appalachian South, two places parts of Marinelli's family come from, and both regions celebrate food grown close to home. So the kitchen leans on growers and producers from the Chesapeake Bay up the Delaware River into southeastern Pennsylvania, and the bar follows suit with local wine, beer and cocktails.

The opening menu posted on Taralli's website shows how that plays out on the plate. A sampling, with prices as listed:

  • To start: focaccia barese ($6), fried Caputo Brothers provola with sage ($7), egg balls ($8) and tilefish crudo barese with fennel relish ($14)
  • Pasta and risotto: orecchiette grano arso with Green Meadow Farm broccoli rabe, pecorino, bread crumb and anchovy ($20); gnocchi alla sorrentina ($25); pumpkin risotto with pickled quince ($26); spaghetti alla chitarra with clams and Calabrian chili ($26)
  • Mains: Birchrun Hills veal cutlet with red eye gravy ($34), seared scallops ($38), roasted tilefish ($46) and a Griggstown roast guinea hen with cipollini and Mangalitsa bacon ($56)

OpenTable describes the room as a market-and-dining space built around a communal table, with a front room, dining room, upstairs and patio.
