Yardley's canal is about to glow. Canal-O-Ween returns with nearly 500 jack-o'-lanterns lit along the Delaware Canal each night from sundown Sunday, Oct. 25, through Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, according to Experience Yardley. The display runs along North Edgewater Avenue between Fuld Road and East Afton Avenue, and it's free.
Every pumpkin on the canal is carved by the community first, which is what makes this one special.
It starts with the Carve-O-Thon on Sunday, Oct. 25, from noon to 3 p.m. at the open lot at the corner of Fuld Road and Morgan Avenue, per Experience Yardley. Volunteers pre-gut the pumpkins, carving tools are available in limited numbers, and families are limited to one provided pumpkin, handed out periodically through the afternoon. You're welcome to bring your own pumpkin, too. Finished jack-o'-lanterns go out on the canal, so you can look for your own creation on the walk later that week, per Experience Yardley.
Both events are rain or shine, and parking near the canal is limited, so check Yardley Borough's free parking map before you go.
On the same Sunday, a Delaware Canal State Park naturalist leads a free Full Moon Canal-o-ween Walk from 6 to 8 p.m., starting at the Yardley Park & Ride, 1140 Woodside Road, according to the DCNR events calendar. It's a roughly 2-mile round trip on the towpath into downtown Yardley under the nearly full Hunter's Moon, with some local history along the way. Pre-registration is required, and the park suggests comfortable shoes and a flashlight or headlamp.
