Cider, hayrides and a working farm in the middle of Northeast Philly. AppleFest at Fox Chase Farm returns Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m. at 8500 Pine Road, Philadelphia (19111). For $5 cash (ages 3 and up), the farm folds fresh-pressed cider, hayrides, candle dipping, apple-butter tasting, games, live music and pumpkin painting into one outdoor afternoon.
Fox Chase still feels like a neighborhood that kept its green edges. A fall Saturday on the farm is one of the clearest ways to see that.
Admission covers the cider, rides and activities listed above. Bring extra cash for apple butter, local honey, pumpkins and a food truck. The program is all-weather and outdoors, so dress for walking, standing and whatever October throws at you. No pets (biosecurity for the farm animals). Adults are responsible for their children.
Park on Pine Road or in the Pine Road lot. A free shuttle also runs from the Pennypack Environmental Center and the Verree Road parking area (both reachable on the SEPTA 67). There are no advance tickets or reserved spots. Organizers warn that anyone DMing for "tickets" is a scam. Questions go to [email protected] or the AppleFest discussion on the event Facebook page.
Fox Chase Farm is a real working campus, not a pop-up fairground. One five-dollar gate gets you cider, a hayride and a handful of hands-on stations before the season turns.
If the forecast looks rough, check the AppleFest Facebook event page the morning of; organizers post changes there.
