A New Levittown Café Is Teaching Job Skills — One Latte at a Time

There’s a new place to grab a coffee near the corner of Trenton and Woodbourne roads in the Levittown section of Middletown Township, and the order window is only half the story. Peace Valley Café opened to the public on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, as a working coffee bar that doubles as a job-training center for youth and young adults on the autism spectrum — built over a decade by volunteers inside a former Bucks County crime lab.

I’ve driven that stretch of Trenton Road for years. Seeing a ribbon cutting, food trucks, and a couple hundred neighbors show up for apprentices who’ve been practicing their craft is the kind of Levittown news that actually feels good to write about.

What’s open now

According to Peace Valley Holistic Center and Bucks County Herald reporting, the café is at 2657 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. Public hours are Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., except when school is closed. The Oct. 2 grand opening ran in that same midday window, with food trucks, music, and a ribbon cutting that drew local officials and a Congressional recognition flag flown over the U.S. Capitol.

A year before the public opening, the program held a soft opening with 14 apprentices. The Herald reported that the program now has 22 apprentices involved through Neshaminy Employability Transition Skills (NETS), with additional apprentices coming from Bristol Borough School District and the Bucks County Intermediate Unit. Job coaches and teachers stay in the mix so every student can move at their own pace — coffee shop, warehouse, or whatever workplace fits.

How it got built

Peace Valley Holistic Center president and cofounder Donnamarie Davis signed a long-term lease on the old crime-lab building about a decade ago, the Herald reported. Volunteers from trade unions including the Carpenters, Laborers, Electrical Workers and Painters Local 2011, plus Ernest Bock & Sons, took out a load-bearing wall, handled an unexpected new roof and pushed through pandemic delays. Renovations that could have topped $500,000 came in around $225,000, paid with sponsorships, donations, and grants, including support from the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority.

“The apprentices have been so excited about this day for weeks. Every day they talked about it,” Davis told the Herald at the opening. “And now, the day is finally here.”

Former Bucks County commissioner Charley Martin put the persistence another way: Davis “had this vision and she made it happen.” That line stuck with me. Bucks County is full of people who quietly build the next good thing for kids who need a runway after high school.

By the numbers

  • Oct. 2, 2026 — public grand opening
  • 2657 Trenton Road — Levittown / Middletown Township
  • Mon–Thu, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. — public hours (closed when school is closed)
  • 22 — apprentices through Neshaminy’s NETS program (Herald); more via Bristol Borough and BCIU
  • ~$225,000 — renovation cost with volunteer trades (vs. an estimated $500,000+)

What I’d do next

If you’re free on a school-day morning, stop in for a drink and give the apprentices a real customer to practice with — that’s the point. Check Peace Valley Holistic Center’s updates for holiday or school-closure days before you go. And if you know a family looking for transition-to-work options for a young adult with autism, this is one of the brighter local doors that just opened.
