Bucks Co. & Beyond Daily
If fall in Central Bucks has a mascot, it's probably a scarecrow on a brick path. Peddler's Village's Scarecrows in the Village display — more than 150 handmade creations lining the Lahaska walkways, per PhillyVoice — runs every day through Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, and public voting for the winners closes today, Oct. 14 (village app or paper ballots in the shops).
I still get a kick out of how Lahaska turns into a free outdoor art gallery every autumn. Lahaska is mostly in Buckingham Township (with a slice in Solebury), so for Buckingham families this is about as local as a weekend stroll gets.
According to PhillyVoice (Sept. 13, 2026) and Peddler's Village, this is the 47th annual scarecrow display, free and open daily from Sept. 7 through Oct. 26. Creators from around the Philly area build the figures; guests vote for favorites, and category winners get prizes. The big Scarecrow Festival weekend (Sept. 19–20) has already passed, but the display itself is still very much on.
Coming up next on the same grounds: the Scarecrow Shuffle fun run on Sunday, Oct. 18, 9–11 a.m., organized by Scoogie Events with Peddler's Village — 8K, 5K, 2-mile and kids' distances. Register early; Peddler's Village says it can sell out.
Voting for the prizes closes today, Oct. 14, and Peddler's Village hasn't posted when winners will be announced, so check the village's event page. After that, keep walking the paths through Oct. 26, or lace up for the Oct. 18 Shuffle. It's free to browse, which makes it an easy add-on to lunch in Lahaska or a drive to New Hope.

A free walk past 150 scarecrows is my kind of October errand — and Buckingham always delivers that mix of open space and village charm.
