Empty retail is getting a second act on West Trenton Avenue. At a conditional use hearing on Monday night, Sept. 28, 2026, Falls Township supervisors approved Flagship Pennsylvania's plan to turn the vacant former Rite Aid at 547 West Trenton Avenue in Fairless Hills into a Spotless Car Wash. The plan reuses the existing building, and construction should take about seven months.
Fairless Hills is a practical place. Big corridors, everyday shopping, and neighborhoods close enough that one reused storefront makes a difference. A building that's sat dark since 2024 is about to have cars and people on the lot again.
Falls Township's Sept. 29 news post and LevittownNow's Sept. 30 report put the 3.15-acre parcel next to the Wawa at West Trenton Avenue and Pine Grove Road, in an HC Highway Commercial district. Spotless plans to reuse the former retail building instead of tearing it down, with an exterior tunnel wash, self-service vacuums and indoor dry-belt service.
Planned hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with possible early closings in bad weather. Drivers would come through three pay stations with room to stack cars at busy times. The township also required a 6- to 8-foot sound barrier along Pine Grove Road to keep vacuum noise away from neighbors. LevittownNow reported Spotless expects about nine to 10 workers on site.
An empty pharmacy leaves a hole on a busy corridor. Reusing the shell adds jobs and puts a vacant storefront back to work.
Next up is about seven months of construction, site work and the sound barrier. There's no opening date yet, so keep an eye on Falls Township and Spotless for news.
