Drug Take-Back Day Returns to Springfield Township Police in Wyndmoor

Medicine cabinets across Springfield Township get a safe way out this month. Drug Take-Back Day is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Springfield Township Police Department, 1510 Paper Mill Road, Wyndmoor, as part of Montgomery County's prescription disposal program.

Flourtown, Wyndmoor and Oreland share one township, and it shows. The library, the parks and the police campus are all a short drive from each other. A Saturday morning window to clear out old pills, without guessing what goes in the trash, is a small win worth putting on the calendar.

What's accepted

Springfield Township's Oct. 14, 2026 notice calls Take-Back Day a safe, environmentally friendly way to get rid of unwanted, unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications. Accepted: prescription and OTC tablets and capsules, inhalers, creams, ointments, nasal sprays, pet medicines and vaping products. Not accepted: needles and intravenous or injectable solutions.

The township says the same items are accepted year-round at permanent MedReturn boxes. Questions go to the non-emergency police line at 215-836-1601, and the township flyer is linked from the news post.

Why it's worth showing up

Leftover meds in a drawer help no one and can hurt someone. Four hours on a Saturday at the Paper Mill Road campus is an easy, official way to clear the cabinet before the holidays. It's a quiet habit that keeps the whole township safer.

Bringing a big bag? Check the flyer for any packaging rules first. Drop-off runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24.
